Mom's Birthday

Like I wrote earlier this week, we've been encouraging to have M. Edium do his own gift shopping. That worked out well for me last week, when it was time for me to take him shopping for my wife's brithday present.

My wife was very clear that she didn't want us spending a lot of money on her gift. So I made a pen-and-ink line drawing of our house, which I had M. Edium color in with crayon. He also said he wanted to get her a blanket like one of his own, so what we did is we went to the fabric store and picked up a couple of yards of fleece out of the clearance bin, which I then made into one of those no-sew fringe blankets, becasue that's the extent of my skills with textile items.

The night before my wife's birthday, I told her that her gifts from us were all ready.

"I hope you didn't spend a lot of money," she said.

"I think you'll actually be insulted by how little we spent."

"Yay!"

And she did love her president. Of course marrying the right kind of person helps a lot too.

Does she love the current president, or the president elect? Just curious.
