I know this says it is a kid's toy, but I want this! How come I couldn't have this when I was younger! That's it. I am officially pouting now.......ok, I am good now. But can't you just imagine playing ghosts in the graveyard in the dead of night with this little bugger? I guess that would have taken some of the point out of the game, eh? Hey, it's still cool to think about! Let's check the specs:
* Eyeclops night vision provides kids young and old with an authentic night vision experience like never before
* Powered by actual infra-red driven night vision technology, EyeClops Night Vision enables clear visibility up to 50 feet in even complete, pitch dark environments
* Conduct covert operations in your backyard, investigate nocturnal activities in your house and take games like hide n’ seek to a whole new level
* See up to 50' in complete darkness
* Eyeclops night vision lets you see in complete darkness
A little pricey at around 50 bucks, it's not entirely too much of a surprise--ya always gotta pay for technology. Reviews of the product have noted that this is a very wildly impractical toy but very fun! (Shouldn't that be what all toys are defined as anyways?) Here is the best summation I could find:
PROS-
* Decent price for REAL nightvision
* easily adjustable
* fairly lightweight
* 2 brightness modes (see near and far)
* B&W or green modes on monitor
CONS-
* MONOCULAR - only one screen inside, over the right eye.
* loss of depth perception
* centered camera displays to user's right eye, causing disorientation
* camera field of view is narrow (no peripheral vision)
* lens fogs up
There ya have it.
