Hey Dads, wanna preserve that vinyl?

Some of us dads have some pretty good records lying around, some collecting more dust than we would like. I mean, while I love some of today's music, let's be honest--still being able to break out Boston's self-titled album and kicking back to "More than a Feeling" or even maybe even listening to Hall and Oates' "M-e-t-h-o-d-o-f-l-o-v-e" (Yeah, I know, now it's in your head, mea culpa).

Anyways, of course the biggest problem with owning records is that, for all intents and purposes, they were not made to last forever. Plus, with yesterday's technology, while many naturalists love to hear the scratchy sound of records playing simply because of the nostalgia it brings back, the quality overall just isn't even close to today's standards. So, what is one to do? Go out and replace all of your LPs with CDs? Well, for those of us that have had several of these records, replacing them this way and even downloading MP3s (legally) really shouldn't be an option.

But for TEAC Electronics, they have found a reasonable solution in having a direct LP-to-CD recordable record player. While the price tag is a little higher than I would particularly like (250.00), it is almost worth it alone just to save the time and effort it would take to replace them. The only thing you need to get is the CD-Rs to record on and you're set! Nice!
