DVD Review

As with the theatrical release of WALL-E, I made sure M. Edium had a chance to see the DVD on the same day it came out. I didn't tell him what we were going to Target for; I just guided him along the cash register endcaps until he saw what I wanted him to see. Since anything remotely WALL-E related draws his eye like a magnet (up to and including a DVD of Short Circuit), this didn't take long. He gasped with excitement.

"Are those WALL-E movies?" he asked.

"Yep," I said. "You want to take one home?"

"Yes!"

"Go ahead and grab one."

He did. "Thank you!" I'm so easy.

I've talked about the movie and his love for it before in this space, so I won't go into the home viewing experience. I will say that his favorite part of the movie is the giant trash compactor robots that live in the garbage bay of the space ship Axiom, which are called WALL-A. They're one of the two things he'll draw for himself (the other being volcanoes).

The DVD includes a deleted scene that is all about the WALL-A robots. Worth the purchase price for him, right there.
