M. Edium has a ridiculous number of toys, many of them quite flashy. He's an only child with nearly a dozen grandparents. It's his destiny.

He's got a remote control excavator that he coveted for months leading up to last Christmas. He has a Rocket (from Little Einsteins) that talks and lights up and plays music when he flies it around. He has a jumpy-castle of his very own, that is currently in the back yard and positioned in just the right spot that he can bounce from its doorway into his pool. He has a fire engine that he can use to cruise around the driveway, complete with lights, a microphone, sirens, and a working hose.

But his favorite toy of all, and the one he's spent the most hours with by far, is a simple set of unadorned wooden blocks that we got from our next-door neighbors one day for nothing. I am strangely okay with that.
