Back to School: I am very old

I know, I know, the cliches abound..."I remember back when you were just a baby boy in my arms at home, and you're all grown up..." or maybe "Where did time go? Pretty soon you're going to be driving!"

The sad thing, is, though, as cheesy as these things sound...they are so true with me right now. This week, both of the boys are back to school in Illinois. Caleb is going to be in 5th grade and Jonathan is in first grade. In one short year, Caleb is going to be in junior high...I mean, seriously, this whole time thing--as much as sometimes I sit at work and wait for the clock to hit quitting time and when I am in situations with appointments where it seems that time is just ridiculously going slow, that with the boys and kids it just continues to roll along and the things that they do, say, everything--especially because I am the non-custodial parent--it's like every time I am with them, they have a new dimension to them that I can so much appreciate--but at the same time feel a bit sad as I am aware that this means that time is rolling along--and soon they will be all grown up.

I am so proud of everything they have done and what they will do....But geesh....it just seems like this is all happening waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast.
